The Mighty Marching Pirates is Fernandina Beach High School's award-winning marching ensemble. From halftime shows to parades and competitions, we bring spirit, tradition, discipline, and musical excellence to the field.

Who Can Join & When?

• Grade levels eligible to join are 9th-12th graders
• No prior experience required
• Recruitment begins April 
• Season begins May 1st and ends in November
• Must enroll in a Band Class 
• Color Guard will host auditions in May
• Marching Band will host a Mini-Camp the day before the Shrimp Festival parade.

SPRING/SUMMER:

• April 8, 2025, Tuesday: Band Parent Meeting at 5pm.
• April 16, 2025, Wednesday: Leadership 2:45-6pm.
• April 18, 2025, Friday: Guard & Drumline practices begin
• Practices are from 4:15-6:15pm
• Schedule: 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16 & 5/23
• April 23, 2025, Wednesday: Leadership 12:40-1:30pm.
• April 25, 2025, Friday: Pirate Percussion & Color Guard meeting at 6:30 for parents
• April 26, 2025, Saturday: Sugar Pointe Music Festival
• April 30, 2025, Wednesday: Mini Camp (after school) & band parent social (5pm)
• May 1, 2025, Thursday: Shrimp Festival parade. Meet at Central Park Gazebo at 5pm.
• May 5, 2025, Monday: Intent to March due
• Registration & $50 deposit
• June: Summer Band Days (TBA)

MARCHING BAND SEASON:

• July 22, 2025, Tuesday: Mandatory band meeting - student & parents
• July 25, 2025: Pirate Invasion @ 8am
• BAND CAMP
• Reminder: Fair Share & Athletic Packets are due

• Football Season Begins!
• Football games are on Fridays from August 22 to October 24, 2025

• Community Showcase is at 11:30am on Saturday 10/4/25.
• October 24, 2025, Friday: Senior Night

• On Saturdays - Families, plan to be available! We will need bus chaperones for these.

• November 13, 2025, Thursday: Symphonic Band Rehearsals begin
• November 17, 2025, Monday: Jazz Band Rehearsals begin

• January 19, 2025, Monday: MLK Parade
• May 8, 2026, Friday: Band Banquet

UNIFORM INFO

• First time marching band students purchase a Rookie Uniform Package. This package is $100 and its a one-time expense that covers an additional shirt, shoes, and uniform fee.
• Returning & new marchers pay a yearly uniform cleaning fee of $50.
• Additional purchases of gloves, shoes, etc. can be made in our Booster Hub store.
